Andres Schipani

New Delhi Correspondent

Andres Schipani is the New Delhi correspondent of the Financial Times covering business, economics, politics and society in India, and the broader South Asia region.

He was previously East and Central Africa bureau chief and, before moving to Nairobi, he was Brazil correspondent out of São Paulo. He has also worked as Andes and Caribbean correspondent based between Bogotá and Caracas, and in the newspaper's New York bureau as a markets reporter.

Andres contributed to the coverage of the war in Ukraine and has reported from several other conflict zones. A native of Buenos Aires, he is a graduate of the universities of Oxford and Columbia, where he was also a Knight-Bagehot fellow, and speaks half a dozen languages.
